Understanding Text Marketing

Mobile marketing, also known as text marketing, is a new method of advertising your business using Short Messaging Service (SMS). This advertising strategy is growing in popularity because of the many benefits business owners get from text marketing. Text marketing, as an advertising concept, is an effective strategy to reach out to your clients on a more personal level.

The difference of text marketing from the traditional ways of advertising is that your advertising message stays with your client longer than those of conventional advertising. You may have the biggest and most creative billboard on the busiest highway but that billboard is only worth a passing glance. Once another billboard has caught a motorist’s attention, yours will be nothing more than one of the many billboards s/he has passed on her or his way to work.

With mobile marketing, your clients can keep your message and go back to it whenever they feel the need to. How many times have you received a message and decided to keep it in your inbox for a while because you think you might need it later on? You might forget the message is in your text inbox but you’d see it again when you browse through your text messages. At that time, you might want to take that restaurant’s promo rate or know of somebody who might be interested in the promo, and so you might forward the message to your friend.

This is how mobile marketing works. This is the reason it works. With text marketing, there is no passing glances or commercial jingles. With text marketing, there is just you, your business and your clients. You reach out to your clients and give them the information they need.
